SIFER 2017: a worldwide reputation

For its fifth edition, SIFER was a side event of the IUFRO 125th Anniversary Congress.

From 11 to 20 Sep 2017, the fifth edition of SIFER welcome this year 17 trainees from 11 countries around the world: Belgium, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, UK, and US under the supervision of about twenty professors, researchers and technical staffs.

Organised since 2012 by the University of Lorraine and Research Centre Inra Grand-Est, in the frame of the Laboratory of Excellence ARBRE, this doctoral training course on “stable isotopes for forest ecosystem research” was a side-event of the 125th Anniversary conference of IUFRO in Freiburg the week after.

Driven by under the leadership of Daniel Epron and Nicolas Angeli, SIFER has celebrated 5 years of existence this year. The next SIFER is already scheduled in June 2018 (25-29).
